Mandarin Oriental Miami

1 Island Drive Brickell

The tranquil enclave of Brickell Key is poised to welcome a new era of luxury with Swire Properties revealing plans for a contemporary Mandarin Oriental hotel to replace the existing structure on the island, accompanied by a residential tower.

Last week, Swire Properties introduced One Island Drive, an exquisite development comprising two towers and an array of amenities spanning over 100,000 square feet. Henry Bott, President of Swire, expressed, “With One Island Drive, we have taken the last prime waterfront site and created an island sanctuary that will be a destination for connoisseurs of luxurious design, intuitive service, and meticulous craftsmanship.”

One Island Drive marks the first residential project on Brickell Key in 15 years, featuring The Residences at Mandarin Oriental, a new condominium tower, and a tower hosting the Mandarin Oriental hotel.

The Residences at Mandarin will soar over 800 feet, offering 220 residences ranging from two to four bedrooms, with floorplans extending up to 4,700 square feet. The tower will include two duplex penthouses at the summit, each exceeding 6,000 square feet.

The second tower will accommodate the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, boasting 151 guest rooms, 61 private residences, and 28 hotel residences. Lavish amenities are set to include multi-tiered infinity swimming pools, private cabanas, dining rooms, restaurants, work lounges, a spa, and health and wellness facilities.

James Riley, CEO of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, expressed enthusiasm about the project, stating, “Twenty-three years ago, Swire and Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group joined forces to open Mandarin Oriental, Miami, forever elevating the level of hospitality in the destination. With One Island Drive, we will do it again, offering residents and hotel guests the highest level of service, accommodation, and luxury amenities, all of which are synonymous with the Mandarin Oriental brand.”

Swire Properties, a key player in the Miami landscape for over 40 years, has been headquartered in the city and has significantly shaped Brickell Key. The company, which currently owns 75% of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, will serve as the developer and owner, retaining the hotel's operation under its renowned brand.

The project's design team includes the renowned Kohn Pedersen Fox architectural firm, along with Parisian designers Tristan Auer and Laura Gonzalez tasked with the interiors of the condominium and hotel. Thai landscape architecture firm Shma will contribute to the outdoor spaces.

Sales for One Island Drive are scheduled to commence later this year, with prices starting at $3.5 million.
